Maiden hair fern.......

Hi there,

As promised the other two creations with the new stencil ' Maiden hair fern' from designs by Ryn. I've combined it with the dreaming Mermaid and the Dancing Fairies. Love this stencil!

The first one with fairies was first made with only green shades but afterwards I add some orange and yellow shades.......Fall is coming(one of my favorite seasons) I've used also the Trickling water and Trickling water set and the water droplets 2. On the mermaid card I also used the Spiral branch set.

Zoals beloofd de andere twee creaties met het nieuwe stencil ' Maiden hair fern' van designs by Ryn. Ik heb het gecombineerd met de dreaming Mermaid and the Dancing Fairies. Een mooi stencil! De eerste met de fairies had ik eerst gemaakt met alleen groen tinten maar naderhand heb ik enkele herfstkleur accenten gegeven. De herfst begint zijn sporen al te laten zien en het is samen met de lente mijn favoriete seizoen. Ik heb ook de Trickling water en Trickling water set en de water droplets 2 gebruikt. Bij de zeemeermin heb ik de Spiral branch set gebruikt.

Here is the full version

I've started on a background which I've made using several shades of green  Shadow paint inks and salt. After drying I sponged the maiden hair stencil with white and green inks. Than I gave some accents on the leaves with color pencils. I've stamped the fairies and water droplets with a vivid green ink and again some accents with pencils on the droplets. I've coloured the fairies with Derwent intense pencils. Than I applied Viva decor Modellier creme(Perlmutt champagne) with a palet knife over the stencil and let it dry.

Ik ben begonnen op een achtergrond van diverse groentinten Shadow paint inkten en zout. Na droging heb ik het stencil gesponst met wit en groen. Hierna met kleurpotlood wat accenten in de bladeren gegeven. Ik heb de fairies en waterdruppels met een vivid groen gestempeld. De fairies gekleurd met Derwent inktens potloden. Toen Viva Modellier creme met een paletmes aangebracht over het stencil en laten drogen.

De tekst is van de Fairy words van Chocolate Baroque.

The 2nd one is also made using the vibrant shadow paint inks and using salt too. It creates always an interesting structure. I like working with the dreaming mermaid.........

De tweede is ook gemaakt op een achtergrond van heldere kleuren shadow paint inkten en wat zout. Het geeft altijd z' on mooie structuur. Ik vind deze dromende zeemeermin zo mooi......

At the bottom of the card I've sprayed with the white Dylusions while the paper was still damp. It creates a soft and cloudy effect. At the top I've sponged with white while the paper was dry. When the card was ready I've used some sparkling glitter paste, also Iridiscent from Viva Decor. It is a bit different from the Kristal Gel Hologram which I've used before. This one has a more fine glitter. I gave her tail an accent with Iridiscent medium of Winsor&Newton. 

Onderaan de kaart heb ik de witte Dylusions spray gebruikt over het stencil. Het papier was toen nog wat vochtig en daardoor zijn de blaadjes een beetje wolkig geworden. Bovenaan was het papier droog en is het effect duidelijker. Toen het droog was heb ik de Viva Decor sparkling paste(iridiscent) gebruikt over het stencil. Het is anders dan de Hologr. Kristal gel die ik al eerder gebruikte. Deze heeft een fijnere glitter. Ik heb haar staart met een Iridiscent medium bewerkt. (Winsor&Newton)

Moth of Darkness........but there is a light........

Hi there,

Today a creation made with the new ' flowing branches' stencil of designs by Ryn. I've combined it with the Lucine butterfly , Celtic star 2 and the Spiral branch set. I've made a background using Shadow paint inks and spattered with silver which creates a beautiful effect. I've used white ink for the stencil and I've coloured the stars with coloured pencil and white gelly pen. The butterfly was coloured with water based markers. I've added also a Tattered angels glaze on it. As a finishing touch some gemstones on the stars.

Vandaag een creatie met de  flowing branches' stencil van designs by Ryn. Ik heb het gecombineerd met de  Lucine butterfly , Celtic star 2 en de Spiral branch set. Ik heb een achtergrond gemaakt met Shadow paint inkten en gespetterd met zilver wat een mooi effect geeft. Ik heb voor het stencil witte inkt gebruikt en heb de sterren met kleurpotlood gekleurd en een witte gel pen. De vlinder is gekleurd met aquarel markers. Hierover heb ik Tattered angels glaze gebruikt. Als laatste nog wat glinster steentjes op de sterren.

Today I finally can show you one of the pieces I've made with a lot of stamps from designs by Ryn and one of the new stencils, ' Floral Spiral' . There are 3 new stencils in the collection of Ryn and as I am a stencil addict I love them! This is one of the backgrounds I've made during te holidays and I could not stop adding..........do you recognize that? It is a bit too large to create a card with it so I decided to keep it for my ' first'  Art Journal.  Here is a list of stamps I've used for this piece;

Vandaag kan ik jullie eindelijk een van de werkjes laten zien die ik met een aantal stempels van designs by Ryn heb gemaakt en een van haar nieuwe stencils, '  Floral Spiral'. Er zijn 3 nieuwe stencils in de collectie van Ryn en als stencil junkie vind ik ze prachtig! Binnenkort ook werk met de andere stencils. Dit is een van de achtergronden die ik tijdens mijn vakantie maakte en ik kon niet stoppen......herken je dat? Butterflies and flowers ..........

Today some creations I've made during the holidays and just finished them into a card. I've been playing with the Thistle and Honeysuckle butterfly. Always love butterflies........On the first one you maybe recognize the background technique from my previous post. I really like that technique. I've decoupaged the butterflies.

Vandaag wat ' vakantie' creaties en pas afgemaakt als kaart. Ik heb de Thistle en Honeysuckle butterfly van Chocolate Baroque gebruikt. Ik hou altijd van vlinders.........Op de eerste herken je misschien de achtergrond techniek van mijn vorige blogpost. Ik vind dat een erg leuke techniek en zal m zeker vaker gebruiken. De vlinders heb ik een extra laagje gegeven.

Like that ' misty milky' effects ( made with the white gelato)

The 2nd one made with the same stamp sheet but a simple background technique using a circle and sun rays template.(Distress inks and color pencils)

De tweede is gemaakt met dezelfde stempel maar met een eenvoudige achtergrond techniek. Een cirkel en stralen masker gebruikt.(Distress inkten en kleurpotlood)

The 3rd one is from the Thistle Butterfly sheet and made in blue and turquoise shades...........I've used a Joggles stencil and thought the starry flower of the ' Wisteria Lane sheet' would match nice with that. I've added some glitter accents and coloured the image with color pencils. The butterflies are decoupaged.

De 3e is gemaakt met de Thistle Butterfly sheet en gemaakt in blauw turquoise tinten......Ik heb hier een Joggles stencil gebruikt en dacht dat de ster bloem van de Wisteria Lane sheet er mooi zou passen. Hier en daar wat glitter effecten en gekleurd met kleurpotlood. De vlinders hier ook weer verhoogd.

and the last one as an extra has nothing to do with these sheets........or...... Yes I've used some of the tiny leaves which are on there........also used the crafters Fern stencil and some glitter paste. The word is from the Artistic Expressions from CB.

En de laatste als toegift heeft niets met deze sheets te maken......hoewel......ja, ik heb de kleine blaadjes in de hoek wel gestempeld. Hier heb ik het varen masker van Crafters gebruikt en wat glitter pasta. Het woord is van Artistic Expressions van CB.

Well, till so far.........you see I was creative during the holidays and I've had lots of playtime with my MIL and 8 year old son.....they've enjoyed playing with inks and water and getting very messy LOL

Zo. tot zover......jullie zien ik ben creatief geweest in de vakantie en ik heb de nodige speeltijd met mijn schoonmoeder en 8 jarige zoon gehad......ze genoten van het spelen met inkt en water en lekker vies worden LOL

Playing, stamping, coloring.........and first of all enjoying!

Today I wanted to show you some of my creations, not finished as a card....and maybe I won't have the time to do that ........because I decided to pick up the trail where I left it .... slowly .......till  I have found my rhythm again. Step by step, because my pitfall is the same as my strength ...my enthusiasm and taking too much on my plate, always saying YES.....it has all to do with boundaries.. I made a commitment to myself to keep one day a week to go on with the declutter tour. 

Of course I did have some creative playtime during the holidays and this was one of them. As I love the Ivy leaf I took some to create some backgrounds.  I did try several things like placing the leaf under my paper and rubbed with Derwent Artbars over the surface. Or inked up the ivy leaf with water and art bars and press it on the paper. Also used some transparant oil chalk to rub and than you get some great effects in combination with the art bars water misted background.

Just come and see..........ofcourse I used the gorgeous water droplets of designs by Ryn. The rose stamps  and French text are from Impression Obsession and the Ivy leaves are from Mother Nature......... I have been playing with Bister too, great pigments to play with. And as you see roses are not always red.........

Hallo daar,

Vandaag wilde ik wat van mijn creaties laten zien, ze zijn nog niet af als kaart.......en misschien heb ik daar ook geen tijd voor....dus laat ik ze nu maar even zien. Ik heb besloten langzaamaan weer te starten en het spoor weer te volgen waar ik er even vanaf ben gegaan.........totdat ik mijn ritme weer gevonden heb. Stap voor stap.......omdat mijn enthousiasme zowel mijn kracht als valkuil is....teveel doen en gelijk JA zeggen........het heeft alles te maken met grenzen....... Ik heb wel een afspraak gemaakt met mezelf.....1 dag per week door te gaan met de opruiming/schoonmaak.

Natuurlijk heb ik wel heerlijk ' gespeeld'  in de vakantie en daar zijn deze werkstukjes dan ook het resultaat van. Ik hou van het klimop blad en ik heb er wat geplukt om te gebruiken bij deze achtergronden. Ik heb diverse dingen geprobeerd, het blad onder mijn papier gelegd en dan eroverheen gewreven met de Derwent artbars. Of het blad zelf te bewerken met de artbars en dan op het papier te drukken. Ook transparant olie pastel krijt gebruikt dat als een resist werkt voor de artbars met water. Je krijgt dan leuke effecten die witte lijnen achterlaten.

Kom mee en kijk......natuurlijk heb ik de prachtige waterdruppels van designs by Ryn gebruikt. De rozen stempels en Franse tekst zijn van Impression Obsession en de klimopblaadjes van moedertje natuur........Ik heb ook voor het eerst m'n Bister tevoorschijn gehaald, mooie pigment poeders om mee te spelen.
En zoals je kunt zien....roses are not always red......althans de mijne niet....

This one is not finished yet, it needs a beautiful quote or some water droplets.........

Deze is nog niet klaar, het heeft een mooie tekst nodig of nog wat waterdruppels......

I like the resist effect of the transparant oil chalk, it creates an etchy effect together with the art bars and Bister.

Ik vind het resist effect van het transparante olie pastelkrijt mooi, het geeft een etchy effect samen met de artbars en bister.

Isn't it beautiful? I really can enjoy these effects and structures.

Is het niet mooi?

Maybe in time I can finish them..........

Cosmic explosion and structures..........

When I saw this quote on Pinterest I recognized myself in it.........I don't know if it is something that is general for every artist....but I feel exactly this way! I feel fine to be a kind of a hermit but I know also that it can give me lots of energy when I meet other kindred spirits. ( I don't do it often but when I do.... I always think I have to do that more often )

Well over now to the creative part...........

Also made during the holidays.........I had a great play with the latest(and some older) structure stamps of Chocolate Baroque and this time I went for abstract. These stamps are also great  adding a bit of doodling.......use your imagination.

here are they......... you can see I have used a lot of different structure stamps, they are so great to play with.....For the background I've used Derwent artbars, they are so rich pigmented......
I've sprayed some water on my craftsheet and rubbed some of the artbars on it, than swooshed my paper through it. The colouring afterwards is done with colour pencils and some accents with black and white fineliners.

Toen ik deze quote op Pinterest zag herkende ik mezelf daarin........ik weet niet of het voor elke kunstenaar opgaat maar voor mij in elk geval wel. Het voelt meestal prima om een soort kluizenaar te zijn maar het voelt nog beter om contact te hebben met verwante zielen! En ik weet dat me dat veel energie kan geven, de goede energie! Ik doe het dan ook niet vaak en wanneer ik het wel doe...denk ik....deed ik dat maar vaker!

Zo, nu over naar het creatieve gedeelte......ook gemaakt tijdens mijn speeluurtjes in de vakantie. Ik heb hier dan ook weer gespeeld met de laatste structuur stempels van Chocolate Baroque en ook wat oudere....het blijven toppers vind ik. Voor de achtergrond heb ik Artbars van Derwent gebruikt, prachtig gepigmenteerd en heerlijk om mooie achtergronden te maken. Het kleuren erna heb ik gedaan met kleurpotlood en wat accenten met fineliner en witte pen.

Feest bij de Stamping cottage in Schaik....2 jarig bestaan!

Hallo allemaal,

Op zondag 16 augustus ben ik met mijn schoonmoeder naar het feestje geweest van de Stamping Cottage in Schaik. Een heerlijke craftshop, gespecialiseerd in stempels en aanverwante produkten. Ze vierden hun 2-jarig bestaan, inderdaad een prestatie in deze moeilijke tijden.

De eigenaren van de winkel, Angela en Marga, twee geweldige vrouwen. Ik ken Angela al lang, sinds de tijd bij Posthumus in Amsterdam en daarna van de Art Specially events en mijn boekjes die ze publiceerde. Ik ben blij haar te kennen omdat ze een geweldig lief en warm mens is! En natuurlijk delen we de liefde voor het stempelen!

Ik heb een heleboel inspirerende en fijne mensen ontmoet.......velen kende ik al en sommigen nog niet. Ik ontmoette Charry, de dame die mijn boekjes in het Engels vertaalt en ze is een heerlijk mens.

Er waren 4 demo's; Eefke Moes, een van de eerste mensen die stempelen introduceerde in Nederland en ze is heel inspirerend. Zij gaf een demo met de alcoholinkten op yupo papier en maakte heel veel mooie landschapjes. Ze heeft ook 3 prachtige boekjes geschreven met vele voorbeelden, ook sieraden, bewerkte knopen, tyvek en nog veel meer.

Dan was Hermine Koster er( eindelijk eens ontmoet haha)een kunstzinnige dame die een eigen stijl heeft. Zij demonstreerde met de Memento de Luxe inkten en maakte daarmee echte 'Hermine'kaarten. Deze inkten zijn prachtig en veelzijdig.......je zult ze meer gaan tegenkomen! Je ziet alle dames op de foto's hieronder. Ook op het Stamping cottage blog kun je er nog meer zien!

On Sunday August 16th, I went with my MIL to a little party of a great craft shop called 'the Stamping Cottage' in Schaik, a small village in Brabant. They celebrated their 2 year anniversary of the shop. The owners of the shop are two lovely women called Angela and Marga. I know Angela because she organizes the Art Specially event every year and she is also the publisher of my books. And I am glad to know her because she is a very kindred spirit. And of course we both love to stamp!

I met a lot of inspiring and lovely people....a lot of them I knew already and some not. I met Charry, the woman who will translate my books and she is a lovely person. 

There were 4 demo's ; Eefke Moes, one of the first people who introduced stamping in the Netherlands and she is very inspiring. She gave a demonstration with alcohol inks on Yupo paper and creates many beautiful nature scenes with that. She has also written 3 books with many samples, also some jewelry, decorated buttons, working with Tyvek and many things more. Than there was Hermine Koster, an artistic lady who has her own unique style of creating and she gave a demo with the new Memento de Luxe inks which are really very versatile and beautiful. You can see these ladies on the photos.......at the end Kristel Mulder and in front Kyra Harreman.

Dan waren er nog twee andere dames waarvan een de mogelijkheden demonstreerde met de landschapjes gemaakt met de Art Impressions stempels en de andere de mooie Prisma colour potloden liet zien( moet weer gaan sparen....haha)

Er hing een heerlijke sfeer en iedereen genoot. Mijn schoonmoeder vond het ook erg mooi en was vooral geraakt door Eefkes kunsten(en persoonlijkheid)

Than there were two other ladies who showed the possibilities with scenery stamping using the Art Impression stamps and the other one demonstrated the beautiful Prisma colour pencils.

There was a lovely atmosphere and everyone was enjoying it. My MIL enjoyed it also very much and when we left at the end of the day I was filled with energy and inspiration.

 This was at the end when the banners were already down.........the posters with my books..........in the entree of the shop and the large posters of Eefke and Hermine where she were demonstrating.

Dit was aan het eind van een heerlijke dag waar de vlaggen inmiddels naar beneden waren gehaald, de posters met alle AS boekjes in de entree van de winkel en de grote posters van Eefke en Hermine waar zij zaten te demonstreren.

Als laatste.....een applausje voor alle mensen die hieromheen werkten en het mogelijk maakten deze heerlijke dag neer te zetten !!

colour challenge Chocolate Baroque 1

During my holidays I was able to play, crafting in nature(see photo's)........it was lovely to do! So I had a chance to make a contribution for the first colourchallenge of Chocolate Baroque! I' ve used Distress inks in the matching colors and used the lovely CB Fancy flowers and the latest structure stamps( Harlequin and Tangled structures)......they are right up to my street! And again I worked on canvas structured paper.(like the roses in one of my previous posts)  Here are the colours of the first challenge.
