Christmas....workshop at the Posthumusshop in Amsterdam.....

( sorry no Dutch translation here, I am feeling not to well today)

Today I will show you the workshop cards made for the Posthumusshop in Amsterdam. We worked with stamps of Impression Obsession and Magenta. Different styles...........

A lot of embossed layers, coloring and decoupaging........

The first one has been stamped with the Poinsettia Zentangle Mandala from IO, the holly branch from IO and the text also......the leaves are from the Damask flower(cling set) the little spots are from Magenta.

onto the next one....... the Christmas tree in frame is a Magenta stamp, on the background flower, text and leaves from IO........

no. 3........lots of Wow Platinum embossing powder and olive and brown shades.......flower and holly leaf is from Magenta and the other stamps from IO.

no. 4.......in lovely and fresh shades of blue, green and turquoise.....

flowers, leaves, background holly at bottom and tiny dots are from Magenta, background large holly and text from IO 

no. 5......... aren't they rich, those gold embossing layers? Magenta flowers. leaves and square panel, background text block from IO

no.6...Zentangle stamps......all from IO

no.7.......a very rich chique card using only black, browns and gold.........a beautiful ornament from Magenta and text from IO

no.8......in traditional Christmas colors, green red and gold.....flowers, tiny dots and leaves from Magenta and background holly  and text from Impression Obsession.

and final no.9........now some icy colors, using silver embossing and purple, blue and mint green. The Damask snowflakes from Impression Obsession are great to color and on the background more IO snowflakes.......and some fragments of the Cover a card Christmas words.

Zentangle cards......made with the lovely designs of Joanne Fink

Today something different........Zentangle cards .....made using the beautiful hand drawn designs from Joanne Fink. The stamps are made by Impression Obsession.

These cards are made for the workshop at the Posthumusshop in Amsterdam. I really did enjoy creating these, it was fun!

Here they are.......the first two have a great contrast because I did not work on a background technique, just plain black stamping on white and coloring with water based markers. I also combined them with some of the older stamps from IO designed by Leigh Hannan. Her style is a great match.

Vandaag weer eens wat anders.....Zentangle kaarten........gemaakt met de mooie handgetekende ontwerpen van Joanne Fink. De stempels zijn gemaakt door Impression Obsession. De eerste 4 kaarten zijn gemaakt voor de workshop bij de Posthumuswinkel in Amsterdam. Daar zijn ook de stempels te koop en hangen de kaarten live!

Hier zijn ze....de eerste twee hebben een witte achtergrond wat een mooi contrast geeft met het zwart en de kleuren. Ik heb ze ook gecombineerd met de al wat oudere stempels van IO ontworpen door Leigh Hannan. Haar stijl past daar goed bij.

The next two have a background using water based markers scribbled on a craft sheet, some water misting and than swooshed the paper through it. 

It started with a special size of envelope and we got the idea to create a card in the same size.(30,5x11,5 cm!!) That's a large space to fill!

De volgende twee hebben een achtergrond die is gemaakt met de Tombo markers op een craftsheet, wat water sprayen en de kaart er doorheen halen. Het begon met een aparte maat envelop en we kregen het idee om daar de kaart bij te maken namelijk 30,5x11,5 cm! Da's een lekker groot oppervlak om op te werken.

And these alphabet stamps are also great for cards with a name.......like this.....

En het alfabet is ook perfect voor naam kaarten....zoals deze.......

En nog een kerstversie......

Kortom, een feestje om te maken en ook de workshops waren weer feestjes........

Hope you did enjoy the Zentangle style and these stamps are great to do some tangling yourself! The small stamp sheet I did design going with my last two books is also very suitable to tangle. You can see it on the Art specially site. The translation of my book in English is progressing and soon it will be on the market!

Ik hoop dat je de Zentangle stijl leuk vindt en deze stempels zijn perfect om verder zelf mee te tanglen! Ook de stempel die ik destijds bij mijn boekjes heb ontworpen is hier heel geschikt voor. Hij is nog steeds te koop via de Art Specially site!

Workshop kaarten Hobbyschuurke- workshop cards

Hallo allemaal,

Zoals beloofd aan de deelnemers zijn hier de eerste twee workshop kaarten die gemaakt zijn bij het Hobbyschuurke in Ridderkerk. Elke week komen er andere technieken aan bod. 

De eerste twee kaarten zijn echt winters, sneeuwvlokken en koele kleuren, veel zilver embossing en inkleuren met Distress. De uitgestanste sneeuwvlokken en winter zijn ook geembosst. De achtergrond is een laag over laag techniek beginnend met de lichtste kleur opbouwend naar donker en tot slot nog wat geembosste sneeuwvlokken.

Here are some workshop cards I have teached for a ' beginners' stamping course. Most of the participants had stamped before but were not very experienced. Because people could just sign in for one class I decided to include a ' finished project' and not only practising techniques. So they had to work hard!  These two cards were the cards of workshop nr. 1. A background with layers of stamping, embossing techniques and coloring the main image with Distress inks. Also some die cuts to emboss.

En hier de kaart van de 2e workshop;

een ondergrond die helemaal gesponst/geblend moest worden met Distress inkten.  Dat is toch iets wat niet meevalt voor een eerste keer en echt een techniek die je vaak moet doen om een mooi resultaat te krijgen. Hier overheen werden fragmenten van achtergrond stempels gezet en gespetterd met water waardoor leuke structuren ontstaan.

And the card of the 2nd workshop:

a background blending with Distress inks( a lot of people found out that it wasn't easy to do), stamping layers using fragments of large background stamps. The main image was coloured using watercolor pencils. The die cuts were also coloured with Distress inks. 

Misschien weer wat inspiratie voor anderen ook? Volgende keer de kaart van workshop nr. 3........

Herfst.....wat ben je mooi........Autumn....you are so beautiful....

Today it's my turn to show you some of the creations I've been making with the lovely Autumn edges.

Autumn together with Spring are my favorite seasons of the year.........those vibrant and rich colors!

The first card is made on a background of distress inks and if you look closer you see a fern leaf from a crafters stencil in the background. The trees are embossed with, copper sparkle a selfmade mix of Wow embossing powders, I've mixed Wow copper and Amber rose  and so are all the leaves and the leafy border. I like to mix colors to get the perfect match.The two large leaves in the right bottom corner are from the Sunny flowers.

Vandaag is het mijn beurt om enkele creaties te laten zien die ik met de nieuwe Autumn edges van Chocolate Baroque heb gemaakt. Herfst en lente zijn toch wel mijn favoriete seizoenen.......die prachtige en heldere kleuren!

De eerste kaart is gemaakt op een achtergrond van Distress inkten en als je goed kijkt zie je op de achtergrond een varenblad van een crafters stencil. De bomen zijn geembosst met een mix van Wow koper, koper sparkle en Amber rose net zoals de bladeren en border. ik vind het leuk om diverse embossingpoeders te mixen tot de kleur die je wilt hebben. De grote bladeren zijn van de Sunny flowers.

And this is my 2nd take on the Autumn edges..............and on the same tree border.......and again I've used those lovely leaves from the Sunny flowers. This time I've used different embossing powders on the trees. The first tree and leaves from the bottom border are done with Wow Verdigris, the 2nd color is Wow copper and the 3rd one is Bark. The background is again done using Distress inks and I've spattered a bit with Distress stain Picket Fence. It creates some milky spots......The word Autumn is from the Autumn fairy sheet.

En dit is de tweede met de Autumn edges........en met dezelfde bomen......en weer met de Sunny flowers bladeren. Ik heb deze keer verschillende embossing poeders voor elke boom gebruikt. De eerste met Wow Verdigris, de tweede met koper en de derde met Bark. Weer een Distress inkt achtergrond en wat gespetterd met Distress stain Picket Fence wat een leuk melkachtig effect geeft. Het woord Autumn is van de Autumn fairy sheet.

Vandaag laat ik jullie mijn interpretatie zien van de 4e kleuren challenge van Chocolate Baroque. Ik vind het altijd leuk om met de kleuren challenge mee te doen omdat het je vaak uitdaagt om met andere kleuren te werken dan je normaal doet. Of om eens buiten je comfortzone te werken........Dat was deze in ieder geval niet.

Today two samples made with the lovely free download papers made by Lesley. You can find them on the CB challengeblog! This time very soft muted pastel colors. Colours I normally wouldn't choose, so a lovely change.......

I have die cut the leaves from the same paper and embossed them with Wow neutral ultra shimmer. The die is from Impression Obsession. The toadstools are coloured with alcohol based markers.

And now the 2nd one, I've kept this one simple, just a beautiful quote from the Words of Wisdom and some die cuts.

Ik heb de blaadjes gestanst uit hetzelfde papier en geembosst met Wow Neutral ultra shimmer. De mal is van Impression Obsession. Ik weet dat ze te koop zijn bij Jacobi in Drachten.

En dan de tweede kaart, simpel gehouden met alleen een mooie tekst van de  Words of Wisdom en wat van de blaadjes.
